Yes, I used to do that as well. I also remember programming "poke and peek" on the ZX Spectrum, but it was never as enjoyable as coding Assembler on the 6502 chip set or the ARM chips. Used to love those old ARM Risc processors. I remember creating a graphics demo in assembler which has 8 levels of parallax scrolling... Awesomeness from such a "slow" process by today's standards.

Re: Loading tunes from the 1980′s: A trip down memory lane

Heh. Enjoyed that. Loved Elite - was one of my favourites too... Also used to do the BBC micro trick, except I did it at school, so a load of random sounds would go off 10 minutes into the lesson. :-)

Re: Virgin Media 50Mb speed test

Thanks man, just what I was looking for. I don't get it and I am not sure that anyone would care what my status would be. I do understand your uses for it.

Re: Virgin Media 50Mb speed test

That's awesome. It would seem like my work place is either capping bandwidth to offer a more stable service to all employees or something else is going on. I'll have to check with my IT helpdesk on this which I'll do and report back on here. The key thing for me, however, is the upload speed which is much better than it used to be (even when VPN'ed). This will hopefully enable me to hold a webex, share my desktop and use my soft phone all at once. This was a challenge on my 8Mbps ADSL connection.

Re: Virgin Media 50Mb speed test

Does your VPN connection have some other limits that are preventing the Virgin Media 50Mb/s connection from working at any greater speed?

Re: Tata Nano: Good? Bad? Or just plain stupid?

Tata, being a company and not a person, does not have a regard for the environment or anything else. It is merely an organisation which exists to exploit opportunities and make money by making something no other company makes in the same way.

The problem with small cars is that you can get more of them onto the road without generating gridlock or self-limiting congestion. So small cars mean more cars mean more pollution, which is bad.

The solutions to the environmental crisis can only come by governments adjusting tax systems to make individuals and companies pay true long term environmental costs for their activities. These solutions will not come through the actions of the free market or companies within it.

Re: Using Solio for power hungry devices

Very nice!!

Re: Solio – Conclusions after one month

cool blog!!! It’s been great to us and let’s be great to it. It’s everybodies duty to chip in and help mother earth. Alternitive energy is the least we can.
